Freycinet Peninsular by Ellyevans679 Freycinet Peninsular by Ellyevans679
Freycinet Peninsula, sits on the east coast of Tasmania, Australia.

Freycinet is effectively two eroded blocks of granite - the Hazards and the Mt Graham/Mt Freycinet sections of the peninsula - joined by a sand isthmus.

Yes there is a pink tint to The Hazards and the rocks around there caused by iron oxide impurities in feldspar, which is a component of granite. There is also an orange lichen cover on many of the rocks that give it the colour. It is truly amazing to see the pink rocks against a bright blue sky, white sands and aqua water. One day I hope you get to travel down to Australia my friend :love:

Thank you for sharing the almost poetic imagery in your description Elle, dear!! Sounds sooo beautiful, I'm very interested in geology and very fascinating by the different colors and shapes in the rocks!! :heart:

A beautiful image where the strength of the granite becomes allied gently with the quiet flow of the water: elements, earth and water which complement each other in harmony;
I like it very much, Elle!
