Here I was...sitting at my computer putting together a long overdue feature for all of you dA lovelies when I scrolled through my messages.

And there...
At the bottom of the page...
Among the Daily Deviations...
was one of mine!!

What a glorious feeling and a huge thank you to Sanguine Vamp and Lyricanna
...and to all of my beautiful friends who always support and inspire me.

Last night we went to see Roger Waters perform The Wall album

OMG totally, unbelievably awesome.

The MOST amazing stage show effects I have ever seen (and believe me I've seen a few)

Projected 3D simulations while still incorporating the original animation from the 1979 release.

The wall was built throughout the concert and physically torn down in the finale.

It sounded even better than the album if that is possible. Sensational back-up singers, musicians and of course Roger himself.

The ultimate rock opera!

I am guilty of not immediately appreciating the effort and talent that goes into 3D modelling, but in my opinion this steampunk music machine is fantastic.

MUSIC MACHINE

Just a quick update to show you what the wonderfully talented stagehand007 created in Cinema4D and dedicated to me.

This came about after a conversation we had about the old vintage bubblegum machines that they had in department stores once upon a time.
Later this year I will start incorporating some 3D work into the Photoshop/Illustrator classes that I teach and Stagey has been directing me towards helpful books and information.

Stagey is a generous friend and an invaluable dA community member.

Hello my lovely deviant friends.
It's summer holidays down here in Aussie and there has been plenty of seafood barbies, singalongs in the garden and walks on the beach at dusk.

My son is preparing to leave home to study engineering at University of Queensland after achieving fab results in his school exams. He has also been invited to perform one of his musical compositions at the Sydney Opera House next month. It is a huge honour and I am both proud and a little sad to see him go.

So I have taken on even more work for 2012 (so I won't dwell and miss him too much). This year I will continue teaching Photoshop and Illustrator and will also start up a Creative Arts Magazine that is to be funded by the College where I teach. It is very exciting.

I really hope 2012 brings you all much happiness and artistic inspiration.
Even when I'm not around dA often please know that your support and friendship means a lot to me and I wish each of you the very best.

Hi friends

Well another Bluesfest has come to pass and we are a sore and sorry lot after trudging for 5 days, although the rain pretty much held off.

We saw BB and ZZ and all manner of Girls, Bros, Boys and Family Bands.

But the winner is JETHRO TULL !!!
They were freakin' awesome.
Second row from the front we were mesmerised. Their energy, their talent. Woohoo what a high.

Now it's only 352 more sleeps til next year...and counting

It’s that time of the year again. Easter is coming around and for me that means trudging in the mud for 5 days at our annual Byron Bay Blues and Roots Festival. Love it!

This year I’m excited to see Elvis Costello, Jethro Tull, BB King, Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes (Allman Bros), ZZ Top, Grace Jones and Bob Dylan.

But best of all, my absolute faves The Indigo Girls are playing for the first time. Woohoo.


To celebrate I've finally managed to put together a long overdue feature from the wonderful talent here on dA. Enjoy!

I wanted to update because I have received two wonderful gifts from friends. What a glorious start to the New Year.
One is from my good friend Stagey who dedicated to me his wonderful 3D character artwork. The lovely Rona also dedicated her first digital painting to me.

As I have mentioned to some of you during our recent conversations, I have witnessed much tragedy and heartbreak over the festive season. None has affected me directly, but all has made me acutely aware and grateful for the blessings in my life. With this in mind I wish for you all, a new year that finds you safe, healthy and wrapped warm in love and acceptance from those who mean the most to you in your life.

I may be a little less productive during the first part of the year, while I prepare lesson plans and resources to start my new job, casual teaching Visual Communication Design with Illustrator and Photoshop as well as a class in Flash Animation at our North Coast Institute of Technical and Further Education (TAFE). Yay!

But I can't wait to share the talents of your amazing creativity and I hope you all enjoy this feature of wonderful art to launch us into 2011.

Hi friends,
Well Christmas came and went and despite our plans for summer fun with barbeques and race day picnics, the only general splashing around for us was in the puddles of rainwater lying around after flash flooding. The races were cancelled, the barbecue is still wet, but there was some boogie boarding in the muddy parks and our beach was fascinating, full of foam from the stormy weather. I have posted a photo to show you what I mean.


Nonetheless, with my family all around, we have had plenty of games and laughs and waaay too much Cointreau.

Thank you all for your friendship and support during 2010 and I wish you all the best for a happy new year.

Hi friends,

It's hot down here in my part of Oz with thunderous storms building from the humidity.
It always feels fascinating to be a southerner on dA around this time of year with all of your stories of snow ploughs, white Christmas' and winter contests.

For Christmas we will spend some holiday time down in Sydney with my sisters, my mum and my 96 year old nanna. Then my sisters and their families will join us here on the coast for New Year, with plenty of beer and bbqs, race day picnics, summer fruits and some singing and general splashing around.


To all my dear friends here on dA, I wish you love, safety and peace of mind, wherever you are.
Thank you for all your support and friendship this year.

Hello my dear dA friends.

Sorry if I missed any of your work while I haven't been around much. I try hard not to, you are all so talented.

I even missed my 12 month dA birthday which was last week on October 16th. It has been one wonderful year of friendship and fun.

So YAY I FINALLY finished my uni degree and picked up a media award for my artbook and website design which was a lovely bonus. Still haven't found any time during the last six weeks for any personal art because I have so much work going on. It's all fun tho' and the last couple of weeks have been spent designing for a bakery, surfboards, a book cover and a set of oracle cards. I've also been doing some teaching in InDesign and Photoshop which I LOVE and joined the Australian Fantasy Art Enclave which is run by the amazing artist Selena Fenech.
